what to expect

Here’s what to expect at your chiropractic first visit:

what to expect at your first chiropractic visit

Your first chiropractic appointment usually takes about 40 minutes, and we ask that you arrive 10-15 minutes before your scheduled time to complete our intake form. You will receive the intake form by email right after scheduling, so you can also complete the form electronically before your first visit. This allows us to better understand your needs and goals and optimize your time to focus on evaluation and treatment.

Your first visit will begin with a comprehensive movement assessment and exam to evaluate your motion and muscle function from your head to your toes. Getting an overall picture of how you move and how your muscles work is critical because often the area causing the problem isn’t where you have pain. The goal of this exam is to determine the muscle imbalance or movement problem that is driving your symptoms. Then, we’ll make a specialized plan for you to keep your symptoms from returning.

Once we determine the cause, we will explain our plan to help you move better and get out of pain. We’ll answer any questions you may have, and then treatment begins!

What to expect with your chiropractic treatment:

We love movement, and it is an important part of your treatment and recovery. You should expect to be physically active at your appointments, and we recommend wearing clothing appropriate for exercise. Each visit will begin by evaluating your movement, then we will use treatments like adjusting, muscle release, dry needling, and cupping, and we will end with rehab exercises. Performing these exercises regularly at home will help you make faster progress and achieve the best outcome.

Follow-up visits usually last 20-30 minutes.
