Move Like The Pros
with Dr. Nolan Clausen
Laying on the couch on a Sunday watching Tiger Woods make a historic come back for his career and to win the green jacket was like falling in love with the game of golf all over again. Watching golf in general makes even the worst golfers want to get out on the links and try to swing like the pros.
But not everyone can swing like the pros. Anymore, most of the golfers are in great physical shape. Years ago, not all golfers had physical attributes or even looked like athletes until Tiger came onto the stage. Now, we have golfers that look more like Brooks Koepka — strong, fit, and can move exceptionally well. It is well known that every golfer on the tour has a specialized member on their team whose job is to keep the golfer in the best physical condition to play. These team members are most likely TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) certified, as 94% of the top 50 golfers in the world utilize someone with this certification.
In every swing, a golfer is required to combine the movements of the ankles, hips, torso, neck, arms, and wrists twisted up like a rubber band to create maximum energy to get the ball to explode off the club in the directed path. A loss of motion in any of those above-mentioned body parts can cause the swing to become disconnected and not allow you as the golfer to get the maximal stretch on that “rubber band.”
Our goal at Midwest Movement is not to teach you how to golf or coach your swing, but simply make sure that all of your movements are allowed to create the most efficient swing for you. Dr. Nolan Clausen is a certified TPI provider and is very passionate about helping people get out of pain and improve their performance in the game we have grown to love.
